Tortoise Day: Saturday 15th May 2010
This will be the 9th annual Cheshire Tortoise Day organised by the Cheshire group of the British Chelonia Group (BCG).  The BCG promotes the welfare and conservation of tortoises, terrapins and marine turtles worldwide.
IMPORTANT - Please note a change of venue for the 2010 event at The Village Hall, Wilmslow Old Road, Mottram St Andrew (near Alderley Edge), Cheshire SK10 4QP.  Free parking and wheelchair access available.   Entrance fee £1.
The aim of Tortoise Day is to enable tortoise enthusiasts to meet and share information with experts on hand to offer advice.  Everyone welcome.
The various trade stands (no tortoises for sale) include the supply of fossils and minerals, horticultural sundries, vitamin supplements, gifts, hand crafted artwork and fund raising tombola.  The Ferret Rescue society and an award winning sculpture and pottery stand will be attending.  The identification display of wild natural tortoise foods with cultivation ideas is always popular.  These will be sold off at the end of the event.  There will also be a lunchtime digital lecture on 'The Tortoise Experience'.
If you cannot join us on May 15th but would like further information on joining the British Chelonia Group, please contact the Membership Secretary, BCG, PO 1460, Bedworth, Warks CV12 9ZR or visit the web site http://www.britishcheloniagroup.org.uk.
